Welcome to the Lab!
The Sign Language and Multi-Modal Communication Lab is dedicated to exploring human communication across signed, spoken, and gestural modalities. We study a diverse range of signed languages, including American Sign Language, Black ASL, Turkish Sign Language, Nicaraguan Sign Language, Ghanaian Sign Language, and more!
Beyond research, our lab members are actively involved in advocacy efforts aimed at improving language access for deaf communities. We also host a research group called Language Across Modalities, where we engage in discussions about current research and topics that inform and inspire our work.
Check out the rest of our site to get to know our team, explore our research, and discover ways to get involved!
